Earth tone paint colors are one of the hottest trend in paint colors for 2024, and Sherwin Williams has some of the best earth tone paint colors.
Earth tone paint colors are shades that hearken the appeal of nature. Among other colors, earth toned paint colors consist of ruddy reds, clay inspired oranges, soft beige and tans, and sage greens.
Some earth tone paint colors are better than others though. Having reviewed over 100 individual paint colors, I hope to help steer you towards the most usable and best earthy shades.
If you are looking for the perfect Sherwin Williams earth tone paint color, check out these recommendations.
Sherwin Williams Svelte Sage
Sherwin Williams Svelte Sage is a nature-inspired green paint color. With undertones including brown and gray, this earthy green is very mature looking.
Svelte Sage has a good bit of depth to it, and tends to look like a mid-tone paint color on your walls. This means that it will be a saturated color, not just a shade that blends into the background.
It pairs nicely with other earth tone shades, such as creams and tans. It also works well with navy accents.
Svelte Sage is great on walls, and also work on home exteriors.
Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze
Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze is a dark brown with a charcoal undertone. It is very sophisticated looking.
Urbane Bronze tends to coordinate perfectly with other earth tone colors, making it a good alternative to use in a spot where you may otherwise use a black paint color.
I love Urbane Bronze in a nature inspired room pared with tans, creams, earthy pinks or oranges, and greens.
Urbane Bronze is a great color for an accent in a space, and the most daring could use it as a wall color. I also think it is great as an accent paint color for a home exterior.
Sherwin Williams Maison Blanche
Sherwin Williams Maison Blanche is a soft beige paint color. It is a pleasant neutral that strongly favors beige, but also has a touch of gray.
Maison Blanche is a sophisticated beige that doesn’t have too much pink or orange in it. Beiges with strong pink and orange undertones can be a little too 1990s. You won’t have to worry about that with Maison Blanche.
Maison Blanche coordinates perfectly with almost any earth tone paint color. It works great on interiors and exteriors.
Sherwin Williams Evergreen Fog
Evergreen Fog, by Sherwin Williams, is an earthy green with a gray undertone. It was chosen as Sherwin Williams Color of the Year in 2022.
Evergreen Fog is one of my favorite earthy greens because it has a maturity to it from that gray undertone. While some greens can be a little too bright, Evergreen Fog looks perfectly earthy and sophisticated.
Evergreen Fog is a mid-tone paint color, and can work as both a whole room paint color or as an accent color for interiors or exteriors.
Sherwin Williams Urban Jungle
Sherwin Williams Urban Jungle is a blend of green and brown. It very neutral and natural looking.
Urban Jungle is a deep mid-tone paint shade. It is a great compliment to creams and other light, warm neutrals.
Urban Jungle is a good color for someone who wants a neutral that is a little more daring than a beige, but isn’t quite ready to commit to a true color on their walls.
Urban Jungle is similar to Sherwin Williams Burlap, pictured below.
Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige
Accessible Beige is a long time fan favorite paint color by Sherwin Williams. Accessible Beige is a blend of beige and gray that leans more heavily towards beige.
Greiges, or blends of gray and beige, are great paint colors for many people because they are a more neutral version of the traditional beige.
Traditional beiges tend to have more yellow, pink or orange in them, and this can make it difficult to choose the perfect beige for your space.
A greige like Accessible Beige is easier to work with because it is a little more tempered.
Accessible Beige is a great beige for anywhere in the home, and works well as a whole house paint color.
Sherwin Williams Cavern Clay
Cavern Clay, by Sherwin Williams, is an orange paint color with a hint of gray. In case you haven’t seen a theme here, bright colors tend to be more usable if they have a little bit of gray in them.
Cavern Clay is just such a color. While any orange is daring to paint on your walls, Cavern Clay has the benefit of being Sherwin Williams 2019 Color of the Year. This means that as a paint color, it has Sherwin William’s nod of approval.
Cavern Clay is a terracotta looking orange. It goes well with other earthy paint tones, but is probably not a shade that I would use in an entire room. Since it is so deep and robust, Cavern Clay is best use as an accent shade.
Sherwin Williams Creamy
Sherwin Williams Creamy is a favorite for many. It is perfect in many style homes, and is a great soft neutral to pair with other nature-inspired homes.
Creamy is an off-white shade that has a yellow undertone. It is probably the least daring paint color on this list, and it isn’t one that makes much of a statement.
But, it is a great backdrop for other earthy shades. It coordinates with warm and cool colors, and is perfect for someone who wants to showcase nature-inspired decor.
Creamy can be used on home interiors as a color in a single room or whole house paint color, and as a home exterior paint color.
Sherwin Williams Dried Thyme
One of the newest colors to trend on Pinterest is Sherwin Williams Dried Thyme. Dried Thyme is an organic green with a blue and gray undertones.
It is sophisticated and refined, and looks amazing with light woods, black hardware, and gold accents.
Dried Thyme can be paired with shades like Creamy, Accessible Beige or Urbane Bronze for a gorgeous color scheme.
Sherwin Williams Redend Point
Sherwin Williams Redend Point is an earthy pink with an orange and gray undertone. It was Sherwin Williams 2023 Color of the Year.
Redend Point coordinates well with greens, creams, tans, beiges, and browns, making it a perfect warm pop of color for a nature-inspired space.
Redend Point is energetic, but not too bright. It is a relatively deep color, and it will look very saturated on your walls.
