If you are planning to paint your home and you are trying to pick a color, one of the things I like to consider is how popular a paint color is in homes.
And while it may sound like I’m just encouraging you to jump on the bandwagon, there is a better reason than that.
Popular paint colors are tried and tested. They have been used in thousands of homes and rise to the top time and again when people are choosing colors. This means that they tend to work well in a variety of conditions – lighting, coordinating colors, fixed finishes and more.
Behr paint is a paint brand that is exclusively sold at The Home Depot. This makes it a very popular brand among homeowners because it is so accessible.
So, if you are planning on painting and need a color that is going is reliably good, this list of the top 30 Behr paint colors for home interiors is a great place to start.
Overall, the list is comprised of light neutrals, but there are a few dark neutrals as well. I’m going to start with their last listed, and go all the way down to what seems to be their number one selling paint color.

30. Toasty Gray N320-2

Behr Toasty Gray is a warm taupe paint color that blends gray and beige with a touch of purple undertones.
This soft neutral if very on-trend for 2026, and will pair beautifully with warm feminine shades, navy blues, light wood tones and gold or black metals.
With an LRV of 61, Toasty Gray falls into the bottom of the light range of paint colors. It will have a presence in the room, but won’t overpower the space.
29. Natural White DC-005

Behr Natural White is a very light white paint color with yellow undertones. It has an LRV of 90, so it is a very light shade.

26. Bit of Sugar PR-W14

Behr Bit of Sugar is a white shade that has soft gray and yellow undertones. It is just a hint off of a true white, and can be used on walls or even trim.

25. Palais White GR-W15

Like the many other off-whites on this list, Palais White has yellow undertones, and a hint of gray.
This makes it an easy color to use in most color palettes.
24. Solemn Silence PPU26-12

Solemn Silence is a light gray shade that reminds me of some of the ever popular Sherwin Williams grays such as Passive.
This gray has cool undertones which give it a chilly and calming vibe.
Solemn Silence is great on walls, and with an LRV of 68, it works in most spaces.
23. Even Better Beige DC-010

Behr Even Better Beige is a warm neutral that fits solidly in the beige category.
It has an LRV of 60, and can be used on walls, in an open floor plan or in individual rooms.
Even Better Beige has subtle undertones, without favoring orange or pink too strongly. This makes it a very usable paint color.
22. White Veil OR-W14

Behr White Veil is another off-white light neutral paint color. It has yellow/gold undertones that firmly commit it to warmth and cheeriness.
White Veil has a high LRV of 88, but despite this, I think it has too much color in it to make it a good trim color. Instead, I would reserve this creamy white for walls.
21. Silver Feather BWC-29

Behr Silver Feather is a soft neutral that is best described as a gray paint color.
With a hint of beige though and fairly pronounced green undertones, this green can be a little harder to use than other grays on this list such as Etched Glass or Platinum.
Silver Feather definitely has its place in a home though, and will work great in spaces with other cool tones.
20. Dolphin Fin 790C-3

Behr Dolphin Fin is a warm neutral shade that blends gray and beige.
Dolphin Fin has an LRV of 59, so it has a bit more depth to it than many of the other shades on the list.

17. Navajo White 22

Behr Navajo White is a light beige shade that has golden undertones.
It has an LRV of 74, which means it is in the light range, but not so light that it could pass as a white.

Overall, light grays like this aren’t as on-trend as they used to be, but many people still love them and continue to use them in their homes.
14. Limousine Leather MQ5-05

Behr Limousine Leather is a dark black paint color with charcoal undertones.
The charcoal undertones make it lean towards a softer black, but it has too much depth to actually be a soft black.
Limousine Leather is a great color for anywhere that you want to define with a dark neutral.
13. Whipped Cream DC-001

Behr Whipped Cream is a soft white with barely there gray undertones. Whipped Cream leans warm without looking too creamy or yellow.
Whipped Cream is a brighter white, and can be used on walls or trim.

This light color is soft and versatile, and can be used almost anywhere in the home.

10. Blank Canvas DC-003

Behr Blank Canvas is a light, off-white paint color. With yellow and gray undertones, Blank Canvas is soft and warm without being too stifling.
Blank Canvas breaks into the top 10 most popular Behr colors because it is easy to use. It doesn’t lean to hard into any of its undertones, and instead just brings an effortless elegance into a room.
Behr featured Blank Canvas as one of their 2023 Colors of the Year.

Behr Dove is a warm gray paint color that favors gray but has a touch of beige in it. This soft shade has an LRV of 66, so it can be used in just about any room.

5. Platinum PPU26-11

Behr Platinum is a light gray paint color with an LRV of 65.
This means that it can be used in just about any lighting and still will look good.
Platinum is a cool color and works best in rooms with other cool shades, or alongside warm accents of pink or yellow.
4. White 52

Behr White is a classic white shade that leans more toward the cool side of colors. With blue undertones, White is a shade that looks good with other cool shades, or with fixed elements like marble.
An LRV of 83 means that White is more of an off-white than a true white.
3. Polar Bear 75

Behr Polar Bear is a very light white with an LRV of 90. It is warm, and has very pale yellow undertones.
Polar Bear works well with warm colors, but can also works alongside blues or greens.
Polar Bear can be used on walls or trim.
2. Black

Behr doesn’t always seem to put too much thought into naming their colors, and Black is no exception. In fact, Black doesn’t even have a color number identifier like the other shades on this list. It is defined as only Black.
With an LRV of 5, Black is very dark. It is timeless and doesn’t have any obvious undertones.
Black can be used in any access space where you want to provide definition, but I wouldn’t suggest is as a whole room color.
1. Swiss Coffee

Swiss Coffee is Behr’s top paint color. This soft off-white shade is popular now and has been popular for years.
In fact, I used this color by accident around 2015 when I was remodeling my kitchen. I had heard that Swiss Coffee was a hot color, but it turns out they meant Benjamin Moore’s Swiss Coffee… not Behr’s.
It didn’t matter to me though. Behr Swiss Coffee turned out to be a gorgeous soft white to use on my kitchen island.
With an LRV of 84, Swiss Coffee can be used just about anywhere in the home, though too bright of lighting will wash it out.
Swiss Coffee is a great subtle warm white that has creamy yellow and beige undertones.
The Top Behr Paint Colors
The top Behr paint colors exclusively feature neutrals, and I think that this is an important thing to note. When you look at the top paint colors by Sherwin Williams, or the most popular paint colors by Benjamin Moore, you typically find paint shades that are actual colors.
My guess is that their true top colors are all neutrals as well, but they throw in a few of their top actual colors to make the list more interesting.
What does that tell us? Neutrals are still king in 2026. The average homeowner still loves neutrals for their versatility. With a neutral, you can pair so many accent shades with them, and even change the accent shades out with each season.
My favorites from Behr’s list are Blank Canvas, Swiss Coffee, Even Better Beige and Toasty Gray. These shades represent the best of what they are – soft whites, modern beiges, and warm taupes.
If you are planning to paint with a Behr paint color, one of these shades on the top 30 list is a great place to start your search for the perfect shade.
